It is often said that ''all work and no play makes jack a dull boy''- this appears to be true. So, it follows that a little play is required to make things flow smoothly as nothing worthwhile is achievable from a boring ambience. And how rewarding it is to play in a way that stirs up your creativity. No longer are executive desk toys some meaningless space-consuming entities; they are quite handy in a peculiar way and any of the underlisted should serve to give you some pleasure as well as test your imagination:
Hanayama padlock
The Hanayama padlock isn't just an ordinary padlock but a 'puzzling one' once its parts have been pulled apart. At that point, one is expected to bring the piece together again by using different combinations of sliding movements- you will be mistaken to think the task is as easy as it sounds. The latest of the Hanayama toys, is the Cast padlock that was designed by Jinhoo Ahn.
3Doodler
3Doodler is a special 3D pen designed by Maxwell Bogue, Peter Dilworth and Daniel Cowen who were then working with Wobbleworks Inc., a company specializes in making unique toys. With a 3Doodler in your hand, you can create quite a number of 3D designs as you fiddle with one (3Doodler).
Fidget Cube
The Fidget cube has six (6) sides equipped with different buttons. With every button comes a means of engaging the senses in certain menial tests that could help to improve your productivity while suppressing uneasiness.
Kinetic Compass Desktop Sculpture
This was created by Michael Stromberg, and it was made from a variety of exotic wood types- zebrawood, mahogany, walnut and maple; it also a compass. The Kinetic compass desktop sculpture is more or less, an interactive piece.
Helicone
Need a spin to keep boredom away? - Then, you have got to lay your hand on the helicone. This work of art consists of 38 laser-cut interconnected plywood pieces [assembled on a brass tube] that can be spun to give different shapes- from making a helical shape to cone or just simply oval.
That's how much we can take for now; there are a whole lot more of these toys available in stores online.
